I recently saw an add for a table tennis return board. I cannot afford a robot at the moment and people aren't always available to feed me balls. Is a return board a worthwhile investment?
Hi John,
I have tried a return board once and i was surprise at its usefulness. It was good for hitting straight balls. If you put any sidespin on the ball it is difficult because the ball will spin off sideways.
I found it good to hit topspins and you could also get it going sideways so that you can do some side to side footwork.
The fourth building block of table tennis focuses on developing your serve and return, the starting point of every rally. A strong serve puts pressure on your opponent, while an effective return allows you to take control of the point from the start.
Mastering these skills is critical for success in both training and match play. By improving your serve and return, you’ll gain an edge in every game and set yourself up for victory.
Our tutorials of serving and receiving will help you develop building block 4.
