Hello sir,

I am having trouble to return smashes which are fast not high. How can I return them fastly. Can I do topspin on that ball or a fast lob.

Hi Devansh,

You can try to topspin them back but it is a risky shot because you don't have much time.  You can start by lobbing if you are short of time and if you are in position and feel you have more time then you can think about making the topspin.

But sir what can I do when the ball is coming in front of my body. When I have to hit the ball. I mean which is the sweet spot in which when I hit the ball the ball good on the table. When I have to hit the ball. Please suggest.  And if I do topspin on that ball what is the start and finish position of that stroke "topspin against smash".

Thank you

Hi Devansh,

If you are close to the table and square on then use your was it to turn if you need to.  You can hit the forehand or backhand depending on where the ball is in front of you.  Play the normal strokes that you can see in our Strokes and Techniques section.
