Hi,

I know how to read sidespin serves,... but what are the basics to return these serves with efficency? ...

Hi Yves,

You need a fine contact on the ball and I find it easier to return the ball with a little sidespin to keep the ball short and low.  This is something that you need to develop with touch and experience.  Keep your hand really soft and relaxed to help absorb some of the spin.  Aim to get the ball as low as possible over the net, even if it is going into the top of the net initially.
