Dear coach,I would like to know your opinion about practice with return board.
All the best

Hi Gianluca,
I have never used one so I can't give you a proper opinion. I have heard some players say they are useful. Perhaps those that have used one can help out here.

Hi,
I made myself a returnboard w/ my dad last summer. It is good for increasing consistency and spin (lowering the angle means you need to put more spin to get it to bounce back over the net). Also it shows you if your shot is effective at all because if you hit a lot of spin and no speed then it won't come back and will just stay on the other side--which is analogous to them getting an opportunity to smash the ball. The same goes for not getting much spin. You can also work on movement excercizes by hitting it diagonally. Another thing you can to is to train specific shots by angling the board sideways a bit and sticking it into a corner.
To sum up it can be quite useful but not as much as a coach and doesn't directly translate to improved matchplay, just improved consistency and technique (if you work at it).
