Hi, my problem is that I can't return services with a spin.. If someone plays a serve with a spin to the right (In my view) and I try to hit it back it always ''spin off'' my bat, what's the best way to return the ball with such effect?
Turning the bat more inside my body or push it back? I seriously don't know what to do :(.
Im new though in my class.
Thanks.
Hi Danny,
Just use the angle of your bat to return the ball. Use your bat as a rudder to steer the ball back onto the table. If the ball is spinning off toyour right, just turn your bat so that it is facing the left net post. Then see where the ball goes. Alter this slightly until the ball goes back on the table.
Good luck with it.
Some players prefer playing with the spin when receiving a sidespin serve by using their forehand, and some prefer playing against it by using their backhand. Though most people prefer the ball spinning into them you can't always use your forehand so here are some tips on how to play a backhand topspin consistently against the sidespin serve curving away from you.
