Hi, when playing table tennis i find it difficult to return shots with backspin on and i always hit the net. Do you have a solution to this?

Regards,

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

This is a tricky part of the game.  There are two ways of returning backspin shots.  The easier way to start with is with a Backhand Push or Forehand Push stroke.  The other thing you can do is if the ball comes long, so it only bounces once on your side of the table then you can use the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.  This will be a more aggressive way of handling the backspin but it is also a little harder to learn.

Try to develop your game against backspin balls.

It might be nice to make a video on looping against heavy backspin; like the kind after you serve heavy underspin and your opponent pushes back.
