Hey, I have a question about returning serves with backspin and sidespin. I think that's how many experienced players serve these days. What should I do if the sidespin backspin serve goes close to net, middle of the net , or far away from the net?
Hi Keith,
This will all be covered in our upcoming Receiving Secrets DVD. However for now some simple tips. If th eball is short with backspin it is best to push the return. If it has tospin you can flick it. So for sidespin backspin short use the push.
If the ball only bounces once on your side then it is time to attack the return. So if it is in the middle of the table but only bounces once, then topspin it. On a long serve you need to attank with a topspin return.
