Most time, I can be certain what the spin is when I return the serve. But it is not always true. Sometimes, I am not sure what the spin is from the serve. I do not know that it is underspin, no spin or weak topspin
My question is:
How i should return in both the long serve or short serve if I am not sure what the spin from serve is?
Thanks,
xiwu
Hi Xiwu,
If you are not sure of the spin then just keep your wrist really relaxed and your hand soft. This will absorb some of the spin. Then aim for the centre of teh table.
The most important part of this process though is to watch really carefully where the ball goes when you hit it. By watching it you will learn a little more about returning spin. You need to watch it especially if the ball goes off the table so you can see how much and what type f spin was on the ball.
