I have heard a lot about the Reverse Penhold Backhand. I am relatively new to the Penhold grip and to this sport as a whole and i am wondering when and how this would be used.

Hi David,

This is a relatively new stroke to table tennis.

The basics of the reverse penhold backhand are very similar to the shakehand backhand. The key is getting the bat into the correct position in your fingers and hand. Try and get the reverse side of your bat facing directly to your opponent before you start the stroke.

Otherwise use the same principles as the shakehand backhand. You will see these on our lesson on How to Play a Backhand.

Let us know how it goes.
