Reverse Penhold Backhand Pros v. Cons

Strokes

Is there any reason why somebody using the penhold grip shouldn't use this backhand? Similarly, if I do use this backhand, should I use only this backhand, or maintain my traditional penhold backhand to prevent the crossover point?

Hi Horace,

There is no reason not to use the RPB.  It is an effective method of attacking on the backhand side.

I think you should still maintain the regular backhand especially for blocking.  Blocking with the RPB is difficult to control whereas you get good control with the regular backhand block.
