coach

me and my friend practice our service and service returns when i noticed that his serve has more spin and a lot faster even though we're doing it with the same stroke.

when i do a tomahawk its a light and slow sidespin while his is fast and curves a lot

any tips coach? thx :)

Hi Amekun,

Try getting your bat to move a lot faster even if it means that the ball misses the table.  As you start to get the bat moving faster you will start to generate more spin.  Then focus on getting a better finer contact on the ball to really get the spin ramped up.

It is important during practice to forget about mistakes sometimes so that it allows you the freedom to really go after the serve.

My tomahawk is by far my spinniest serve and the one that gives most trouble to my opponents.  In my experience the main thing to concentrate on is to hit the ball right at the very tip of your racquet (which is moving the fastest).  This is not easy to do with a falling ball so need plenty of practice.  You'll initially be doing a lot of air balls and hitting the ball 10 metres past the table, but keep perservering.
