Hi there!

I've been playing a lot of table tennis the last couple of months here at home and really want to get better. I was wondering if it was a good idea to purchase a robot to practise different strokes if I'm alone at home. Do you guys have an opinion about robots?

greetings

Hi Pieterjan,

They can be god if you don't have someone to practice with.  They are good at a basic level to learn the strokes.

Take a look at the  Blog we have on Table Tennis Robots

which we did a few years ago and also a piece by one of our readers on Learning Table Tennis with a robot.

#33 - Defending with the Block

One thing you can be sure of is that every top player will be able to keep the ball on the table with a solid block when under pressure. It seems that this is a pre-requisite to becoming a good player. That's why in this training session we focus on improving your block. If you can absorb your opponent's attack you will be in a good position to win a match against them.
