Rubber after opening the packaging

Hello coaches!
If we open the packaging of the rubber, does it start to lose its characteristics? Especially xiom vega asia.
In other words, if we open the packaging but don't use it, can we say that it is still "a new rubber" over times?

Hi Ardak,
If you keep it stored in a dark place without getting it too heated or dirt on it then it will maintain its characteristics for a long time. It is better if you have it in the packet as the dust won't get to it.

I mailed Stiga and asked:
"I wonder how long your table tennis rubber can be stored? ... assuming they are left in the original packaging."
There answer was:
"Thank you for your e-mail. Rubbers holds for about 2-3 years in the package."

Not so sure when it comes to tensor rubbers, as they are boosted. When you open the package, the smell can be intense and they curve (they don't stay flat). Opening the package and then letting it sit for a long time might weaken the boost. No scientific study behind this, just a thought.
