Equipment
Hello I have a question. Is it okay to have long pimple rubber and defensive rubber on a fast blade? On my forehand i have the gambler reflectoid which is a defensive rubber which could generate good spin, and on the backhand i have the galaxy neptune which in the long pimple rubber. I am going to switch to a aggressive defender style. Thank you for your time :)
PS: I was watching the 2004 olympics womens singles video clips. Ai Fukahara vs Miao Miao and I saw Alois in One of the Front row seats :).
Hi Kyle,
Bats are a matter of preference. Most defenders would have a slower blade but if it feels right for you then stay with it.
It may be interesting to hear from some of our readers that play with a defensive style that may be able to help.
I remember that match between Fukuhara and Miao. Miao felt she was in with a chance but Fukuhara is a very strong player.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

I previously used a Gambler Carbon Oversize with Gambler Reflectoid and 729 Cream Transcend. It really depends on how you chop and what you mean by "aggressive defender". A fast blade can help with generating offense with Reflectoid, but I recommend using at least a ALL+ or slower, because both of your rubbers are suited for defense. It will help control because fast (usually hard) bats tend to hurt defensive characteristics. Cheers!

I myself am using the Donic Defplay Senco Classic blade in combo with TSP Curl p-4 Chop and Yasaka Rakza7Soft.
Maybe it is good combo for an attacking defender.
I am going to switch my forehand rubber as it was proven too fast for me
