 Hello Alois and Jeff

I was wondering if you could give some advice on replacing my bat.  Where can I sell my old bat?

I need some money to buy a new one and thought that I could benefit from selling my old blade .

I found some places though as ooak forum and ttxonline with used equipment are you familiar with that sites ?

I used it for 6 months and I don't know how much to sell , it's a stiga nct allround and if you buy it new now it Costs around 55$

Is it worth selling ?

Could I sell the rubbers too?

They are in very good condition regardless I used them for 6 months

Stiga optimum mp black and red .

Finally I was hoping to get some help from you on choosing a more offensive blade and rubbers .

I usually play with topspins and spinny loop shots both from backhand and forehand  also I count on chop shots when necessary I also like my blade to have good control but the most important feature for me is for the blade to have good feeling (soft not too hard )

I don't like the feeling from my current blade I liked the feeling from waldner senso blade with boost ts rubbers, what is your opinion on joola blades and joola max rubbers , what else do you suggest ?

I will be happy to hear from you

Hi Giannis,

I am not really up to date with all of the equipment.  Joola has a good range.

The rubbers that we tend to recommend are the Yasaka Rakza 7.  The PingSkills Touch is a good feeling blade as well.

As far as selling the old blade, perhaps someone on here will be able to give you some recommendations for prices or where to sell it.

Hello Alois!

Thank for the recommendation but I have never heard of this blade before and I can't find its features on tabletennisdb

What do you mean that someone on here can help me on selling the old bat? Should I create a new thread?

They will comment on this thread if they have some advice.

You can find the features of the blade on our site:

The PingSkills Touch blade was specifically designed by PingSkills to provide an all round blade with a great balance between control and speed. It is a 5 ply all wood blade. The centre layer is Ayous wood. The 2 inner layers are made of koto, and the outer surface layers are fineline wood. It has a speed rating of 7.5, control rating of 8.2 and weighs 83g. It is very well balanced so not top or handle heavy.

Hi there,

Regarding selling your current equipment, I can't tell you where to do that, unless you'd live in France, which is unlikely according to your name. Regarding its value, rubbers used for 6 months can only be sold very cheap, since modern rubbers wear out so fast (I think I recall Alois recommending to replace them after around 80h of use). The blade holds its value better, if it's not damaged in any way, but the price will depend on its rarity. If there are lots of the same on the market, expect to get back around 50% of the original value.

Considering you're on a budget and that your goal is to get more speed, I would suggest the following approach :

Wood : If you can afford it, just in case, at first keep yours as a backup. Buy a quicker one second hand (as I mentioned, that should save you around 50% compared to a new one). You already know where to find ratings and reviews on the web. If the quicker one suits you, sell your current blade. In the end the whole process should be cheap. If the faster blade doesn't suit you, you'll still have your current blade to keep playing until you find the right blade.

Rubbers : According the reviews I read, your current rubbers are pretty fast already. You also say they are in good condition. So at first I would recommend to keep them and put them on your quicker blade. That maybe enough to reach your goal and it wouldn't cost a dime. The rubbers should fit easily, since faster blades are often a bit smaller that allround blades.

To summarize : Buy a used OFF blade, put your current rubbers on it, and if you're happy with the result, sell your current blade.

Hope this helps.

J-B.

P.S. : If you want somebody to give you references of forums or other places where to sell table tennis equipment, it would certainly help to know in which area you're living.

Alois, Jeff, FYI, it looks like this topic doesn't show up in the "Featured questions" summary list. I only stumbled on it by accident while browsing from one question to the next, which I usually don't do.

Cheers,

J-B.
