Hi PingSkills,

What is the best way to return a fast short serve that escapes from the side of the table? Is it preferred to direct the ball using a push or attack it somehow? Thanks in advance.

Hi Viki,

If the ball goes off the side of the table with its first bounce then it should be able to be attacked.  Let the ball come off the side of the table and then you will be able to swing through and play a full stroke at the ball.

If the ball is bouncing twice and going towards the side line it is best to take the ball early before it gets too wide so that you are not caught out too wide.
