Good day Jeff.

All my forehand service are so bad, i have been learning to serve the under-spin, side spin and all possible spin with my forehand, but until now there is basically no spin when i hit the ball.. my opponent always return the ball with a top spin or flat drive.... according to them all my forehand service has no spin..

i need your advice and help, its really killing me and frustrating me, because i am unable to have a good set up....i was thinking it has to do with my height. i am 6feets 2 inches........

i would appreciate any help or advice you could render ...

Hi Chris,

Your height is not a disadvantage in serving.

Rally focus on the contact of the bat on the ball.  You need to get a brushing motion on the serve.  Start by doing this away from the table and try to get the ball to stop and come back to you.  Or you can try getting the ball to curve on the floor.  If you can do this effectively then you are getting the contact to be able to get spin on the ball and then on the serve.

Once you feel comfortable doing this away from the table, move to the table and try to get the same spin on the ball and get the ball to bounce anywhere on the table.  The next step is to get the ball to bounce correctly on the table.

Developing a good serve takes time and a lot of practice.
