Hi Hans,

Have a look at the video on Forehand pushing.  It shows you how to do the short push as well.  The principles for the backhandare the same.

The keys for the short push are to keep your hand relaxed and hit the ball early.  The stroke is a short version of the push, just using your fingers and hand to guide the ball over.
