Hi Siddhartha,
Are you talking about on a serve or during a rally?
Sidespin is when the ball is spinning sideways. To generate this spin on the ball you need to brush on the side of the ball. The Tomahawk serve is a great example of this.
During the rally you can also hit the ball on it's side to get sidespin. Watch this video on the Sidespin Forehand Topspin for an example.
