Strokes
hi again ping skills, my question is that whenever i am trying to slice the ball to generate backspin on the ball it is also generating side spin on the ball which is not very effective . I just wanted to know what i am doing wrong ?
Hi Faiq,
It is probably just the angle of your bat on contact with the ball. If on a backhand push the ball is curving to the left you have the end of your bat lower than your hand. Lift the end a little to get the ball with straight backspin.
Apply this same principle to correct any type of sidespin.
A snake shot is a type of stroke which is specifically used against a drop shot. It is usually loaded with a heavy spin so that the opponent finds it difficult to counter. The type of spin can be backspin, sidespin or topspin depending on your choice. You need to make a movement after hitting the ball to confuse your opponent.
