sidespin underspin

i was realy worry about returning sidespin.....like what u say...if the ball is spinning to the left...face the bat to the right..but when the opponent sidespin/underspin...the balls hits the net...what should i do...and can u tell me what are they doing when they having doubles under the table

Hi Martin,

The same principle applies.  If you think about the spin taking the ball down you need to face the bat upwards to lift the ball up.  You need to combine this with the angle to combat the sidespin.

When they are signalling under the table in doubles they are telling their partned what type of spin the are going to serve with so their partned can read the play a littel easier and tell what type of return they can expect.
