Size of defensive blades

Hi Alois,

why are defensive blades generally larger than the average?

Hi Thomas,

It gives the defender more area to get the ball onto which can be useful especially when the ball is coming fast at you.  Also further away from the table you don't need to wield the bat around so fast.
