Smashing short

Many times the ball comes quite high but it pitches twice on the table. I can't smash it

how do I receive this

Take a look at this previous Ask the Coach question.  Attacking Short Balls

When using the Ask the Coach it is good to do a search through the previous questions as you will often find a lot of information there.
