Soft or hard as forehand rubber

Hi Aloise,

I bought a pre-made bat as you recommended.

The forehand rubber (DHS) is soft and grippy.

The backhand rubber (Bomb) is harder and also grips well.

What rubber should I use (DHS or Bomb) at the forehand if I want to play spin shots at the forehand, and no spin at the backhand.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Try both and see which feels better for you.  Some players like the feel of the Sofer rubber for spin and others like the harder sponge.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
