I'm just asking, how do you get fast legs so you could get the ball faster.
I saw ryu seung min and he is super quick. What training do you do.
I put on weights, do you recommend that?
Hi Mat,
You can put on weights. The main thing is to increase the strength in your legs so that eventually you can increase the speed and therefor power in you movements.
Ryu Seung Min's speed comes from a lot of weight training and a lot of hours on the table doing footwork drills. There are no short cuts here.
In this video we discuss the footwork of Ma Long. He has strong legs, a great basic position with feet wide apart and his knees bent. He also jumps into position keeping his feet apart as if there was a steel rod between his knees. A great way of seeing this in action is to watch a video of him playing and cover the top half of the screen so you can concentrate on his legs and waist.
