How to do a proper back hand spin?
Hi Ishaan,
The principle for generating spin is the same regardless of whether it is a forehand, a backhand, a serve, a topspin or a push.
You need to make a brushing contact with the ball, and a fast contact with the ball. The better you do both of these things, the more spin you will generate.
You need to ensure that you have a decent rubber that is capable of generating spin. If you have a cheap pimpled bat then you are not going to be able to generate much spin. Ensure you have a bat from a reputable Table Tennis brand and that the rubber is not to old. Then just start practicing trying to spin the ball. Start away from the table and just try to get some spin. Try to get the ball to come back to yourself. We talk about this in our lesson on Practicing Alone.
