Hello Pingskills team

Actually I am 189 cm tall and to perform the techniques correctly I come to have problem with how much should I bend or go down and some times I hit the shadow of the ball or just miss it slightly and it really troubles my playing style.I cant find the true height I should stand infront of the table.and if I go down too much it reduces my speed or my balance in the game.and if I dont I cant perform good.

Thanks for your reply

Hi SH,

Get down to a level where it feels ridiculous.  That will probably actually be the right position.  I find that most players will never get low enough.  Take a little video of yourself and watch it back and then compare the angle to some of the better player when they are playing their forehand and backhand  shots.

It will take a while to feel comfortable in that position.

Take a look at this video on the Basic Stance.

Snake Shot

A snake shot is a type of stroke which is specifically used against a drop shot. It is usually loaded with a heavy spin so that the opponent finds it difficult to counter. The type of spin can be backspin, sidespin or topspin depending on your choice. You need to make a movement after hitting the ball to confuse your opponent.
