we are starting a table tennis club at out college (harare institute of technology in zimbabwe) and i was wondering if you have any advice on which you can give to boost start the club so that people can appreciate and learn from the sport and if you know people from this side that we can see so that they can assist
Hi Paul,
I don't have any contacts in Harare. The best advice I can give you is to provide activities that they are looking for. I would start with some general playing sessions. You may then be able to organise some informal competitions that make it interesting for the players. Coaching sessions may be something that you can provide a later date once players are looking to improve their games.
Show people how much fun Table Tennis can be and show them the vast ability to improve their games and then see if they become interested.
The fourth building block of table tennis focuses on developing your serve and return, the starting point of every rally. A strong serve puts pressure on your opponent, while an effective return allows you to take control of the point from the start.
Mastering these skills is critical for success in both training and match play. By improving your serve and return, you’ll gain an edge in every game and set yourself up for victory.
Our tutorials of serving and receiving will help you develop building block 4.
