Hey Alois, just curious, have you seen anyone play with long pimples on the forehand and inverted rubber on the backhand?

Hi Jasper,

In wheelchair table tennis this happens quite a bit.

Tactics Against Penhold Players

When playing penhold players it is important to remember to first analyse your opponent as you would if they used any grip. What are their strengths and weaknesses? A common weakness of penhold players is their forehand block especially against a slow spinny topspin. Their backhand may be a weakness if they use the traditional style, or you may wish to explore the crossover point if they are using the reverse penhold backhand.

I have played such a player in our high District level.
Also, you can search female Chinese player Zhou Xin Tong. She is playing penhold with long pimples on her forehand side.

One guy in my club uses long pips on the forehand ,heĀ  uses the inverted on the backhand. His backhand is really powerful so I'm gonna avoid hitting to his backhand in games.
