Strategy

Greetings,

When playing against short pips with sponge what is the correct forehand and backhand stroke against a ball that floats and appears to be no spin

Scenario is:

I am served a no spin or light under spin ball from short pips with sponge.

I loop the serve back with topspin

The ball that comes back from my topspin is dead / floats / no spin.

I didn't see any video's on your website demonstrating the proper strokes.

Thanks

Ray

Hi Ray,

When they serve with the short pimples it will have no spin so go forward on your topspin.

When they hit the ball back off your topspin, it will come back very flat and may even feel like it has some backspin on it.  Your next topspin needs to be more lifting to get the ball over the net.
