Hello coach!

I have a question about the table tennis bat. The red part and the black part.

Are there any rules about which part you can use?

Thank you keep the good videos.

Hi Luis,

The only rule is that yo have to have red on one side and black on the other.  You are allowed to use either side for any shot.

You have to have red and black.  This rule was brought in because initially when they made the rule that the different sides had to be different colours players were choosing colours that were really close in colour like black and dark blue.  So their opponent still couldn't tell which side of the racket they were using.

To put a stop to it they decided that they would nominate that the rubbers had to be black and bright red.
