Hi Alois,

If I hit a ball when it is coming towards me, and if it hits my fingers, does that still count as a hit or does it mean it is the opponents point?

Hi Kon,

If th eball only hits your finger and goes back it is a good hit.  If it hits your finger and the bat then it is a double hit and you lose the point.  Most of the time if it hits your finger it also hits the bat, but if you do manage to hit it with only your finger it is good.  Up to your wrist is part of your bat.

The Mercy Rule

Some people talk about a rule where if you get to a seven nil lead, you automatically win the game. However in table tennis there is no such rule. To win the game you must get to 11 points and be ahead by 2.
