when you serve, do you have to serve to the opposite side?

Hi Xi-Mian Quah,

In singles you can serve from anyhwhere to anywhere on the table as long as you are behind the end line of the table.  In doubles you have to serve diagonally form your right hand box to their right hand box only.  In doubles you never serve from your left hand box.

If you have any further questions with it let me know.
