hi. i get to play mostly adults with regular rubber. once in a while i get a kid with a regular rubber or a one with short pips on the back hand side. i would like to know how to play kids in general since they take the ball right off the bounce, and also how to play against that fast driving short pimples back hand. thank you
Hi Alex,
The main things that you need to focus on are the same as with any players. Look for their weaker side, then the types of shots they don't like.
To deal with short pips you need to think about using heavy spin, either topspin or backspin as the pimples find this hard to deal with. The driving short pimples ball will come through almost with a similar effect as a backspin stroke. You will need to lift the ball a little more than you would with normal rubber.
