Hello Alois, hello Jeff 

is a push always a backspin ball, or do no spin strokes also count as pushes? 

Especially meaning short push.

 Hi Marcin ,

A push can have no spin on it as well.  At the very basic level I remember learning that as a push stroke.

That makes sense. I still tend to think of a push as more of a backspin stroke.
