That kind of day

Strategy

Hi Pingskills,

Have any of you ever had a day when your strokes seem not as good as before, most of the strokes going out or into the net? How do you deal with that kind of day? I know it's about having confidence, but I can't seem to gain back the confidence I lost. I become less offensive, I don't dare to even do a simple topspin, even giving up a simple smash shot. Do you have any tips?

Hi Stefan,

Firstly accept that everyone will have days like that even the World Champion.  On these days just work as hard as you can and see if you can get a little better.  Jus because you are not playing perfectly, it doesn't mean that you can't win the match.  Remember to win a match you just have to play better than your opponent.  You never know, your opponent might be feeling just as bad on that day so struggle on and see what you can do.

If you don't win that is OK, just work hard the next time you play.
