The "Modern" Backhand flick

Strokes

Hi Alois,

I'm a great fan of your website, I've learnt a lot from you. Keep up the good work!

I know you already have a tutorial video on how to do the backhand flick. However, I've noticed that nowadays a different, seemingly more difficult version of it is used very often by top players to return backspin serves. When performing this stroke, they start the motion with turning their wrist backwards towards their body, probably to be able to generate more spin, and keeping the bat almost parallel to the table. This is how they gather momentum for the stroke, but they finish the motion by turning the bat more vertical.

This is what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYG0a3iDOLU

Could you do a tutorial on this one, too?

Thanks and cheers,

Jozsef

Hi Jozsef,

You are in luck we already have a tutorial on this.  Take a look at the Backhand Sidespin Flick.  I think this is what you are talking about.
