Hi … I’m sure that Jeff has been watching the new Apple series ‘Prime Target’.
Early in the first episode, the protagonist Edward Brookes (obviously a fan of Jeff’s) caught bus 204 and was fascinated by that number-204 squared is the sum of 3 consecutive integers cubed. Edward later raised this observation with a Cambridge professor.
I’ve been following the PingSkills podcasts from the start and have been listening to Jeff’s fascinating numbers, so I went back to episode 204 to see if Jeff had already discovered this interesting property. This is where it gets really mysterious … and I can only think that Alois (due to his love of numbers) has had a hand in it. There is no episode 204. The audio of the podcast is just a repeat of episode 203.
Come on Alois, come clean! What have you done!
Hi Marcus,
What a fascinating observation about number 204 and its intriguing properties. It seems like the realms of mathematics and table tennis are colliding in mysterious ways.
As for the curious case of the missing episode 204 of our PingSkills podcast, I must admit, it's quite the puzzle. Maybe Jeff is hiding it in a vault somewhere. I don't think it was intentional to skip or repeat any episode, especially one with such a numerically interesting theme. However, technology and Jeff can sometimes have a mind of their own, or perhaps it's just a quirky coincidence that aligns with the mysterious themes of 'Prime Target'.
I'll have a chat with Jeff and see if we can dig up the original audio for episode 204, or perhaps even create a new episode dedicated to exploring more fascinating numbers in table tennis. I don't want to get Jeff back on his numbers themes! The jokes are bad enough.
We show you the options of dealing with a short ball and show you how to play these strokes.

Thanks Alois … I’m only up to episode 235 and you and Jeff are still doing the Power of Practice table tapper and spin catcher challenges. It’s March 2016 and you’re also still managing to do 5 episodes a week minus holidays etc. I’m looking forward to catching up to the current podcasts where I suspect that Jeff’s hair should be grey by now. What I do miss, however is the videos of each podcast which are not currently available but (I think) distributed in your FAQ section under categories rather than the episodes themselves.
Since I’ve gone back to table tennis my wife thinks I’ve become obsessed … but I think I’m not alone. Thanks again to you and Jeff for doing a great job.
