Hi Alois and Jeff!

Im just wondering i have had a few blades, both around 5 mm in thinkness. 7 ply.

I have ordered a new blade i want to try and is about 6 mm. What im wondering is:

Does thickness of the blade make the paddle faster? Does it make the paddle more stiff and harder?

Both blades i have used are both medium in stiffness.

Hi Jace,

It is not so much the thickness but more the type of wood used.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
