Throw the ball into play

this is not a serve, but I see it when players start a rally, one will throw the ball into the bat, to start the warm up, it looks neat, but I can't do it. How is that done?

Hi William,

Just something that players do.  It just gets the ball moving at a good speed to start the rally.

Give it a try.  As you say it is not a proper serve but just used when players are training.

It's something I have never really thought about before.
