Serving
Hi coach Alois,
I've been struggling to do a high ball toss serve. The ball was not very accurate at it is dropping. I need this to get more spin and speed on my serve with this.
Thanks,
Hoa
Hi Hoa,
This is something that you can practice.
Stand at the table like you are going to do a High Toss serve. Then put a piece of paper in front of you. Throw the ball up and try to land it on the paper consistently. Or you can throw the ball up and then catch it with your playing hand.
You are right that getting the toss accurate is important in making the serve effective.

Thank you coach Alois for the advice. I appreciate that very much. I will try my best to throw the ball accurately, I will tell you how I'm doing with it and hope you will help me improve.
Thanks
Hoa

For me it helped to put a little tension on my hand/fingers, resulting in a more vertical direction of the throw.
Another part of the trow is the use of your legs. Use the foot/leg to come up and doing so, create some real pressure from the foot. The resulting force needs to flow to your hand. You will notice the availability of more power and thus the ability to perform a higher throw. Since the force is now generated from the foot/leg combination and not from the shoulder/hand combination, you'll also notice a higher consistency in throw direction.
