Hello Jeff,

I saw that you played Timo Boll in the 2000 olympics and i was wondering how was it like to play him? He is my absolute favorite player in the world with such an amazing and technical game that is so entertaining to watch.

Hi Jared,

It was a really good experience playing against Timo Boll and Jorge Rosskopf in the 2000 Olympics. The main thing I remember about that match was the introductions. As we were playing in front of a home crowd we got a lot of support. They introduced the German team and they got some light applause from the crowd. Then they introduced me and my doubles partner from Australia and the noise was unbelievable. I looked over and saw Timo and Jorge smiling to each other. I got the feeling they were still pretty confident :) As it turned out they did go on to beat us convincingly :(

Timo was still very young at that stage and as we all know went on to become a legend in the sport. He is a great player to watch.
