Tired

Alois,

I often have to play matches two days in a row. I've noticed that when I played hard the day before and I'm still tired, I don't play nearly as well. Should I be playing different when I'm not fresh?

Is there a strategy for playing when tired?

Hi Paul,

I think the issue is probably trying to improve your recovery techniques and perhaps your stamina.

Some recovery techniques are things like massage, ice baths or cold and hot showers.  You could even try compression garments which help with circulation.

Doing more endurance training during the off season will also increase your stamina and ability to recover as your body won't be as tired.

As far as a different strategy for playing when tired, perhaps you could think about playing more passively but this depends or your skills in this area.
