Hello Coach,
I'm omar from the netherland, I play tabletennis since 2015.
At the beginning i used to play everywhere i found a table. Then in 2016 I joined a table tennis club but I wasn't a beginner at all so i didn't need to play with the small children. I played a competition the result was 90%.
My question is how much time do I need to become pro. I mean by pro (international player )? cuz i'm already good but not enough.
THANKS for all this usefull video's
I hope that i will hear a fast answer
Anyway, thank you again!!
Hi Omar,
We answered your question on the Show #288 - Match Drills.
The main thing is that you need to play for quite a few years. The popular thinking is that you need to play for 10,000 hours which is about 10 years. Of course this will depend on the quality of the training and players you play with.
One important factor is to be resilient enough to train through the good and bad times in your playing. Understand that progress is not a straight line upwards. There are always bumps along the way.
