To float a forehand

Hello Pingskills Pros,

i love your videos and my game improved in a very short time. Thank you for that.

I saw many videos from Table Tennis pros especially from London 2012. I saw that many pros float a forehand while returning an opponents serve.

What is the reason for doing that?

Hi Jannis,

Thanks for the kind words.  I am not sure what you mean by floating the forehand.  Let me know so I can clarify.  If you have a reference of a video that would be great.
