Top Chinese guys using a blue sponge rubber

hi, i noticed during the olympics the top boys are using some new rubber with a blue sponge on their forehand side. ive not come across this colour sponge and wondered if anyone knew what rubber it was. even ma lin and wang liqin are using it in the china open this week.

Someone will know. Friendship with blue sponge used to be one of my favourites.

i thought all the friendship rubbers were lower end cheap rubbers. cant see any expensive ones in the catalogues. would of thought the pros are using the most expensive and fastest out there such as tenergy etc.

I have heard that Chinese professional players have special versions of rubbers made especially for them and it's not the same cheap old Chinese rubber commercially available.

Thanks Tom, i have now looked at some reviews of the rubber. the blue sponge version is a softer sponge version of it. i can see from the reviews that it suits the chinese style of play.
