Good day! :D

What are the different variations of topspin? .. what is the difference of a forehand loop from a forward topspin ?

Hi Jimi,

There are not a lot of differences.  They become extensions of each other.  There is no definitive cut off point when a topspin becomes a loop.

In general a loop tends to be a slower travelling shot that has more spin.  The stroke is more vertical to make this happen.  They both have a low to high action and a brushing contact.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
