Strokes
what is the best point by hitting the chop ball? is it sidespin or topspin?
i cant even master doing the topspin and i can do is sidespin an for me sidespin is a difficult stroke by hitting a chop ball.
what can you tell me about it? im curious.
Hi Paul,
The topspin stroke is the best to start with when tackling backspin. The topspin will lift the ball better and enable you to get the ball up and down quickly onto the other side.
Think about the angle of your wrist when playing the stroke. Have it straight to the ball so that you generate the pure topspin. If you hit the ball on the side it has to have sidespin on it.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
