hi pingskills,

i have been practicing my forehand topspin and it has become really good. but i have a problem, when i'm doing a forehand topspin rally, i try to return with a topspin so as to not brake the momentum but when i return with a topspin around the fifth ball, the ball usually flies off the table. my question is that am i brushing less and hitting more or shud i put in more strength and brush less cuz usually i go far from the table. thanx for the help.

Hi Basel,

It is a matter of recognising the amount of spin on the ball.  Then you have to adjust each of your shots to allow for the changes in the spin.

If you put a lot of topspin on your stroke you will have a better margin of error over the net.

Take a look at our lesson on Topspin to Topspin.

Sidespin Forehand Topspin

Curve the ball past your opponent with the sidespin forehand topspin. The sidespin not only causes the ball to curve but also makes it very difficult to return.
