What can I do about improving my Control and Placement of the Ball. I don't have that good control and placement and if I will improve it, I can take the ball properly to my opponent's weak spots.

What can I do to Practice my Control? And most of the times I don't have Practice Partner, but we have a Table.

Thanks in Advance,

Jeffrey.

Hi Jeffrey,

When you do get a chance to train with a partner, focus on consistency of your strokes.  This will develop control.  Work at getting many balls on the table rather than trying to hit the ball too fast.  You can use a consistency chart to record how many its you can get on in a row without a mistake.  You can do this for a whole range of strokes, starting with the forehand and backhand counterhit.

If you don't have a partner you can do a lot of drills that we show you in our lesson on Practicing Alone.  A lot of these drills will help to develop control of the ball as well.

#42 - Study Your Opponent

This is the second training plan focusing on match strategy. Last week we looked at your strengths and building a game around that. This week you should examine one of your competitors and pick out their weaknesses. Then you can design some training drills to expose those weaknesses. By doing this you'll be able to exploit them in a match situation and win points more easily.

Hello Coach, Thanks for the Fast Reply, I Think I really need to use the Consistency Chart now. If I can improve my Control, I think I'll improve a lot.

Thaanks.
